Get ready to embark on an exhilarating journey as we celebrate the much-anticipated 10th edition of Frames – Portuguese Film Festival, brought to you by FAPS - Portugisiska Riksförbundet and the Portuguese Youth Association in Sweden (Ung FAPS). 🎥

This year, we promise a cinematic feast showcasing the best of contemporary Portuguese cinema, in Stockholm, Malmo and Gothenburg.

Since our inception in 2013, Frames has consistently enchanted audiences, uniting the Swedish community and the Portuguese diaspora in Sweden. Recognizing the extraordinary quality of Portuguese films, our festival aims to illuminate and champion the Portuguese cinema industry, fostering cultural bonds and uniting nations.

Our overarching theme, "Colossal Youth," brings you a diverse selection of Portuguese films that capture the essence of youthful perspectives, freedom, and the rediscovery of long-forgotten mysteries. Get ready for a soul-stirring cinematic journey, offering a fresh and thought-provoking lens into the world of the young.

This exciting new segment of the festival aims to promote diversity and inclusiveness through the celebration of the Portuguese language across various countries and cultures. We aim to make this segment a unique opportunity to experience the rich diversity of the Portuguese-speaking world.

This year, we were proud to present two films, one from Brazil and another from Angola, as part of our celebration.

Storytelling

Frames Kids hosted a free storytelling event to create a participatory and immersive experience, allowing children to enjoy the language in a dynamic and entertaining way.

Frames kids goes to school…

Thanks to the support of Casa da Animação, we brought our program to schools across Sweden!

This project aims to spark children's interest in animation from an early age and foster Portuguese-speaking skills.

We provided a selection of our Frames Kids shorts and books to classrooms teaching Portuguese as a mother tongue, from 1st grade through high school.
